Firstly, welcome to Dubtrek! and no, this isn't some sort of dubstep and Star Trek gangbang don't worry. I decided to start this blog mainly so I could just voice my opinion on anything Dubstep and bass culture. I know there are thousands of blogs out there like this but whatever, this ones mine. If you don't like what I say then unlucky, move on and read something else.
Basically if its Dubstep, Drum n Bass, Drumstep or anything bass culture I'm all over it. If you feel the same then I'd urge you to check back regularly when I'll be reviewing albums and EP's (from well known and undiscovered artists), releasing gig info, posting the odd mashup and just generally rambling. Anyway that's enough about me and this blog lets crack on.
Firstly I'm gonna start with a bit of Benga and namely his new track - I Will Never Change, if you haven't heard it check it out here. Personally I love this track and I think Benga has really outdone himself with this latest release. He's come a long way since Diary of an Afro-Warrior, with Magnetic Man and various collaborations with the likes of good friend Skream and other dubstep heavyweights. I know it sounds ridiculous talking about a pioneer of the genre coming a long way but it sort of makes sense. His sound has matured and I honestly can't wait for his next release due later this year.
Ok next up for you I have something from someone I know, this isn't gonna be a regular thing by the way. I'm not gonna shamelessly plug all my wanabee producer friend's crap week in week out. But this is seriously worth checking out. I first saw this and thought that will never work but some how it just does. Coldplay - Paradise (System remix), I know what you're thinking, just listen. Just to top it off Coldplay posted it on their official facebook wall with the comment "filth". Please bear in mind this was made by an 18 year old lad with a computer, nothing more, certainly worth keeping tabs on though.
That's your lot for today, I'll be back soon with more bass!
